You’re invited to the hotel party of THE tragic fallen fashionista, Uta Uber Kool Ja. Tonight Uta is baring all: she’ll dance for you; cry at you; laugh with you. Her intimate party takes place inside a chic hotel room. Every inch of the room is Uta’s stage, and the audience are her guests.
Inspired by amazing women of the 20th & 21st century Uta Uber Kool Ja is a tongue-in-cheek fictional biography of Uta: an actor/feminist/pop star/artist/designer/exhibitionist/rock star.
Uta Uber Kool Ja has been performed a sell-out season as part of the 2012 Adelaide Fringe Festival, and 2011 Melbourne Fringe Festival. Every party, a select group are snuck into a suite in a gorgeous & chic inner-city hotel. Uta is in the mood to bare all, tell her secrets and ask for some in return. Before the champagne goes flat and the high heel snaps, Uta & her guests will share an experience.
Uta Uber Kool Ja blends dark comedy, intimate exchanges and glossy finishes with tragedy and perversion to ask “what more can we get from scraping the bottom of a barrel?” It is a peek-a-boo car crash that is deeply funny and disturbing.
